A Clean Contemporary Christian Romance
Can bitter rivals come to love each other? Fighting deep prejudice against her femininity, her choice of vehicle, and even her heritage, Camara Cole is determined to win the mud-bog racing championship this year. Her biggest competition seems also to be her worst enemy. Chase Lamar has been racing mud-boggers as long as Camara, and he grudgingly admits she's the best driver-mechanic he knows. Their rivalry has been long and bitter. But Chase is a new Christian. As he begins to change, he finds his relationship with Camara changing, too. When Camara's vehicle is sabatoged, she naturally blames Chase, despite a growing attraction. Chase must prove his innocence, but evidence points his way. When the smoke clears and the truth is known, will each be able to extend forgiveness, maybe even love?

Camara Cole has had to fight for every inch she’s gained as a mechanic in her father’s Chevrolet dealership and as a mud bog racer, but she’s determined to prove she’s the best and gain the respect of every man who has belittled her. What she can’t understand is the sudden change in Chase Lamar, her main rival. Has he truly accepted Christ, or is this just another way to defeat her?

The novel had a rather slow start for me, but it did get much better. In fact, it became so interesting, I flew through it. There wasn’t much of a mystery since it was apparent who the culprits were, but the tension was there, and the romance was good.

Debra Ulrick is a most amazing author. She brings to life people with real personal problems, attitudes and idiosyncratic ways. When she shows God intervening in he characters lives, she clearly shows the power of God consistent with his word and nature. I have read all of her published stories. they are all great, but the sequel to this book(Deja Vu Bride is my favorite. So buy all her books and let yourself be filled with joy.

This is a clean Christian romance. Christianity is not presented as a thin thread weakly woven but rather as the anchor in the lives of the all too human characters. This author obviously knows her stuff and it was great to get right down into the pits with the drivers. There are some sigh worthy moments in the romance department as well. Excellent editing seals the deal in this altogether enjoyable book.
Excellent outstanding storyexcellent well written and guess I couldn't put it down outstanding story well written loved it loved it loved it
Camara used teasing humour to keep conversations going, but when it was used to remind that she was a woman doing a man's job her temper went out of control
.When a man who had been her contender for winning the races and who had tried to prevent her from winning started being friendly she couldn't trust him
even though he told he had accepted Christ as his Saviour and had changed
I love this action packed story about a woman who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and play with the boys. After so many books about princesses and glamorous women this is a refreshing change. Camara is fun and feisty. She works in a male dominated industry and excels. Not content to wear frilly dresses, her wardrobe of choice is coveralls, a ball cap and steel toe boots. She works as a master mechanic by day and moonlights as a rip-em up mud pit competitor by night. Thank goodness Chase able to look past her mud tinged eyelashes and greasy fingernails to see the caring, charming woman driving that Chevy Beast. I really enjoyed immersing myself in this universe and look forward to reading the next story.
Who doesn't like a girl who can get down and dirty with the best of them! Fun book to read especially if you are looking for a character who has grease under her fingernails and not only enjoys fixing up and restoring cars, she likes racing them through the mud pit! Good christian, clean book.
If only we would let go and let God be in control of our lives how happy we would be. This was a very enjoyable story of how we let things we see and not listen for the truth in the situation take over and cause such bitterness and hate to ruin our life, until we find salvation and forgiveness. These two families lost a lot of years over a misunderstanding when the dad's were in collage. How often do people let things grow out of control and live such bitter last few. This is a story that I would recommend for all to read. Life is to short to spend it trying to hurt and get revenge on someone it is more blessed to live close to Jesus and to be like him, to love and help others be happy.
